CAMBRIA, Ill. -- Chester C. Davis, 77, of Cambria died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill.
He was born July 10, 1924, in Little Grassy Township, Ill., son of William Arthur and Stella Cox Davis.
Formerly of Union County, Davis retired as manager of Red Carpet Car Wash in Carbondale. He had also farmed.
Survivors include three sisters, Verda Lawrence of Carterville, Ill., Lillian Gurley of Cambria, Wanda Schlenker of Lick Creek, Ill.; two brothers, Luther and Raymond Davis of Marion, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Bishop Manuel Jackson and the Rev. Donald Childers will officiate. Burial will be in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery.
