Bernice E. Loesel, 94, of Cape Girardeau and formerly of Perryville, Mo., died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Gir-ardeau.
She was born Jan. 28, 1908, in Perryville, daughter of Adolph and Martha Mehner-Bock.
On July 31, 1932, she married Rev. Berthold J. Loesel, who lives at the Lutheran Home.
She was a loving wife of 69 years who was known as the Flower Lady on Edgemont. She was a homemaker who loved gardening, cooking and sharing her faith with others.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Berean Bible Class and past member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League in Perryville, Mo.
She was the loving mother of one son, Frederic and Sandra Loesel of St. Louis; three daughters, Lois and the Rev. Walter Fehrmann of Jackson, Mo., Esther and the Rev. James Wuebben of Peshtigo, Wisc. and Myra and Paul Bertram of Farmington, Mo.; one brother and sister-in-law, Harry C. and Ann Bock, Sun City, Ariz.; one nephew, William Elmore Koons Jr., of Decatur, Ga.; seventeen grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Craig Otto officiating. The burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials should be made to the Lutheran Heritage Foundation (Worldwide Lutheran Translation Project) or the Immanuel Lutheran School Building Fund.
