Evelyn Geraldine Sikes, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 15, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born June 1, 1924, in Flat River, Mo., daughter of Frank G. and Josie Davis-Johnson.

She and Paul Sikes were married Aug. 14, 1943. He died June 21, 1994.

She was a member of Free Will Baptist Church in Flat River, Mo., and had worked at Florsheim Shoes in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a son, Larry Joe Sikes of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Pamela Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Edith Horton of Flat River; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons' Sprigg Street chapel.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel, followed by burial at Memorial Park. The Rev. Phil Thompson will officiate.
