Winford Griffith, 64, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Dec. 27, 1937, at Cape Girardeau, son of Wesley and Della Griffith. Winford Griffith, 64, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Dec. 27, 1937, at Cape Girardeau, son of Wesley and Della Griffith.

Griffith was a member of the Assembly of God. He was a decorated Navy Seal, a member of the Eagles, lifetime member of VFW Post 3838, former reserve police officer, member of the Teamster Union and a 32nd degree Master Mason.

Survivors include three sons, Steven Griffith and William Griffith of Naples, Fla., and Chuck Griffith of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Debra Metzger of Cape Girardeau; a brother; three sisters; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

A memorial service will be held at the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel at 2 p.m. today. Kim Ferguson will officiate.
