MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Sadie Sarah Abernathy Trentham of Marble Hill died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, at the age of 86 years, two months and 22 days.

She was born Dec. 25, 1915, in Bollinger County, Mo., daughter of Noah and Mary Kirn Abernathy. She and William E. Trentham were married Aug. 7, 1932.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest and Velma Trentham of Browning, Mo., James and Carrie Trentham of Jackson, Mo.; a sister, Cora Rhodes of Marble Hill; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; an infant son, Billy Wayne; a daughter, Harrietta Faye Lincoln; a great-grandson; parents, Noah and Mary Abernathy; sisters, Lydia Hamilyn, Lona Douglas, Auga Abernathy and Bertha Lashley; brothers, Henry, Walla, Harry and Hershal Abernathy; and a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Trentham was an accomplished seamstress, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo., after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Bethel Methodist Church, with the Rev. Daniel Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery.
