ST. LOUIS -- Scott Mellanby scored late in the third period, lifting the St. Louis Blues to a 3-2 victory Friday night over the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.

Mellanby scored the game-winning goal at 12:28. He took a pass in the right circle from Pavol Demitra and lifted a shot over the glove hand of Jean-Sebastien Giguere.

Anaheim's Mike Leclerc tied it 2-2 at 6:11 of the third period. German Titov turned all the way around and passed to Leclerc, who was standing alone at the side of net. He quickly poked in the puck for his 20th goal.

After a scoreless first period, the Blues broke out to a 2-0 lead.

Keith Tkachuk scored his 30th goal just 17 seconds into the second period. From behind the net, Scott Mellanby backhanded a pass to Tkachuk, who was at the top of the slot. He one-timed the puck over the shoulder of Giguere.

Al MacInnis scored from the right circle at 10:17 to make it 2-0. Tyson Nash backhanded the puck into the slot just outside the crease. MacInnis beat Giguere to it and skated toward the circle. Giguere went down to block the shot and MacInnis lifted the puck over him for his 10th goal. It was MacInnis' first goal since Jan. 17, a span of 20 games.

Anaheim answered at 13:16. Skating in and going left, Steve Rucchin passed to Paul Kariya. He knocked in the puck for his 30th goal from the right circle with defenseman Chris Pronger a step behind him.

Noteworthy

It was the final meeting of the season for the two clubs. St. Louis won the season series 3-1. Overall, the Blues are 22-10-4 against Anaheimm.

Tkachuk leads the Blues with 38 points (22 goals, 16 assists) on home ice.

The Blues are 30-2-3-2 when scoring three or more goal, including a 20-1-0 at home.
