CAIRO, Ill. -- Betty L. Davis, 74, of Cairo died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Charleston Manor Nursing Home in Charleston, Mo.

She was born Nov. 26, 1927, at Birdspoint, Mo., daughter of the late Harry and Gertrude Riggs Franklin. She was married to Frank Davis. He died in 1965.

Davis worked as a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Cairo for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Frank Davis of Wickliffe, Ky., and Steve Davis of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four daughters, Linda Jones of Mounds, Ill., Pat McClendon of Cairo, Mary Davis of Reno, Nev., and Pamela Johnson of Cairo; four brothers, Bill Franklin of Wyatt, Mo., Robert Franklin and Tommy Franklin, both of Charleston, and Harry Franklin Jr. of California; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Dr. Larry L. Potts officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds.
