Cape man completes Army combat training

Army Pvt. Deric W. Strop has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

Strop is a 1994 graduate of Central High School in Cape Girardeau.

He is the son of Doyle and Brenda Strop of 3122 Dogwood St.

Purcell trains at Fort Jackson in S.C.

Army Pvt. Elizabeth M. Purcell has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Purcell is the daughter of George and Georgeann Purcell of Route 7 in Doniphan, Mo.

She is the wife of Jeffrey Crader of 617 Sycamore.

Charleston woman takes step in Air Force training

Air Force Airman Anesha M. Scott has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Scott is the daughter of Fredia Scott of 110 South St., and the niece of

Lorretta Rodgers of 705 Lee St., both of Charleston, Mo.

She is a 2001 graduate of Charleston High School.
