Electric church bulletin, memorial to late Rev. F.H. Melzer, is dedicated at morning worship service at Trinity Lutheran Church; sign, constructed of stainless steel, was designed and patented by J. Lawrence Siemers of Cape Neon Sign Co., member of memorial committee; bulletin is centered in flower bed built of Tennessee sandstone.

Rabid dog, running wild along five-mile stretch near Cape Rock Drive, throws that neighborhood into panic as it attacks and bites at least dozen dogs before animal is shot to death; some of animals bitten are dispatched by their owners, while anti-rabies treatment will be give others which may have come into contact with dog.

75 years ago: March 30, 1927

New $175,000 public school in west end, to be opened for use next September, will be known as Franklin School, Board of Education has decided after several months of discussion; name was selected before two retiring members - George L. Meyer and J.F. Neal - leave board.

Cape Girardeans start their annual citywide cleanup campaign, with rubbish and debris that has collected during winter being removed from dwellings and business establishments to curb, where it is being picked up by trucks of street department; cleanup period will continue Thursday and Friday, with street trucks operating each day to remove rubbish.
