PHILADELPHIA -- Scott Rolen homered and drove in the go-ahead run with a double in the seventh inning Tuesday night, leading the Philadelphia Phillies to a 7-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

Mike Lieberthal had two hits and two RBIs, and the Phillies' offense finally got on track with a season high in runs and hits (11).

Jose Santiago (1-1) got one out, Ricky Bottalico pitched a scoreless inning and Jose Mesa worked the ninth for his third save.

Jason Marquis (1-1) allowed six runs -- five earned -- and nine hits in 6 2/3 innings.

Cubs 2, Mets 0

CHICAGO -- Jon Lieber allowed two hits over eight innings and Chicago scored more than one run for the first time in four games.

Corey Patterson and Augie Ojeda had RBIs for the Cubs, who left 15 men on base.

Lieber (1-0) walked two and struck out seven in throwing 106 pitches. Antonio Alfonseca pitched the ninth for his first save.

Steve Trachsel (0-2) allowed one run, seven hits and three walks in 5 2/3 innings.

Rockies 10, Astros 5

DENVER -- Gary Bennett hit a three-run homer, John Thomson won his second straight start and Colorado snapped a four-game losing streak.

Todd Zeile and Jose Ortiz added two-run homers for the Rockies, who entered as the worst-hitting team in the National League (.225). Todd Helton broke out of an early-season slump with three hits and two RBIs.

Thomson (2-0) went six innings, allowing five runs and eight hits with no walks and seven strikeouts. Dennys Reyes, Todd Jones and Jose Jimenez each pitched a perfect inning to close it out.

Shane Reynolds (1-1), who helped his own cause with a two-run double, gave up six runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings.
