Funeral for Bardis Wiseman of Cape Girardeau will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. David Bragg and Bryan McAlister will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

Wiseman, 88, died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Fountainbleau Lodge.

He was born May 10, 1913, in Tipton County, Tenn., son of Earnest and Nealy Elder Wiseman. He and Evelyn Medling were married Oct. 7, 1930, in New Madrid County, Mo.

Wiseman had farmed and worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. He was a member of West End Boulevard Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Donald Wiseman of Cape Girardeau, Larry Wiseman of Granville, Ohio; two daughters, Mabel Smith of Scott City, Mo., Kay Gilliland of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, James Wiseman of Covington, Tenn., Edward Wiseman of Tennessee; two sisters, Frances Wright of Texas, Allie Moor of Millington, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two children, five brothers, and two sisters.
