ANNA, Ill. -- Frank Elkins, 68, of Anna died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at his home.
He was born Jan. 19, 1934, in Jonesboro, son of Guy and Ina Foster Elkins. He and Ruth Williams were married June 3, 1955, at Jonesboro, Ill.
Elkins worked 30 years with Illinois Department of Corrections, and 16 years at International Shoe Co. After retiring he worked for the Gazette Democrat.
He was a precinct committeeman with the Democratic Party 45 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
Elkins served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Wayne Elkins of Cobden, Ill.; two daughters, Myra Williams of Wolf Lake, Ill., Angela Hargrave of Jonesboro; his mother of Jonesboro; three brothers, Fred Elkins of New York, Larry Elkins of South Elgin, Ill., Darrell Elkins of Elgin, Ill.; two sisters, Carolyn Ferguson of Jonesboro, Marilyn Jones of Nevada; and six grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Anna Cemetery, with the Rev. Ken Wilson officiating.
Hileman and Parr Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
