So skateboarders and their parents have to build their own park? Did any of you help build the baseball fields in Arena Park? How about the soccer fields over in Shawnee Park? Taxes pay for youth sports. It's always been that way, and it's time for equal recognition for skaters.

If people here feel that it is not important to build a new stadium for the Cardinals, that is fine. But I don't want to hear people complain when the Cardinals leave for a state that will build them a new stadium. The Cardinals do a great deal for the economy and should be rewarded.

I hear everyone complaining about the price of postage here. I lived in Europe for three years, and it cost me about $1.75 to mail a letter that might not arrive for four or five days at a town not 45 miles away. I think everyone should do a little research on the postal services of other countries. Then they would really appreciate the costs and service we have come to expect here. I know we are a complaining nation and don't seem to verbalize when something is done right. We have come to expect perfection every time. I just want to say I think you, postal employees, are doing a very good job.

Double dealing, double-talk and duplicity are an important and necessary part of an effective American foreign policy. Most people support President Bush's double-tracked dealings in the Middle East -- everyone but purists who would sacrifice American interests on the altar of consistency.
