Getella I. Sander, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Oct. 26, 1920, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of David and Ursel Bolen Caraker. She and Albert C. Sander were married Aug. 12, 1941, in Cape Girardeau.

Sander was a graduate of Central High School. She had been an Avon representative and had worked at Ellman's Clothing Store and Ruh's Market. She had been a member of May Greene PTA.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Kenny Sander of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Doreen Brown and Karen Rhymer of Cape Girardeau; three grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Klein officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
