CAPE GIRARDEAU SPRING CLEANUP

The Public Works Department's solid waste division will pick up a reasonable amount of trash placed at the curb on the day of your regular pickup. Here are the rules and regulations:

All trash must be at the curb by 6 a.m. on the day of your normal pickup. Items should be prevented from blowing or spilling into the street.

Items cannot weigh more than 75 pounds per container.

Only residential customers can participate in the cleanup.

Grass, leaves and yard waste should be bagged separately.

Brush and limbs should be bundled in 4-foot lengths and weigh no more than 75 pounds.

Appliances must be at the curb and doors must be removed.

No concrete, logs or railroad ties will be collected. Swing sets must be broken down.

No tires, batteries, motor oil, automobile parts, paint or hazardous material will be collected.

A reasonable amount of trash will be collected, typically what could take two men to load in about 10 minutes.
