Albert Watson

OLMSTED, Ill. -- Albert V. Watson, 91, of Olmsted died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at his home.

He was born Dec. 25, 1910, in Villa Ridge, Ill., son of Ralph and Mary Hayden Watson. He first married Reba Turner, who died Dec. 22, 1953. He later married Salona Stephens, who died Jan. 24, 2000.

Watson was a retired farmer, and member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Martha McMunn of Villa Ridge, Daisy Brown of Choctaw, Okla., Erma Watson of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four sons, Lewis Watson of Olmsted, James Watson of South Roxana, Ill., Glenn Watson of Villa Ridge, and David Watson of Metropolis, Ill.

He was also survived by three sisters, Lora McClain of Mounds, Ill., Beulah Howard of Kalamazoo, Mich., Sarah Brust of Ceredo, W.Va.; three brothers, Ralph Watson of Olive Branch, John and Leroy Watson of Villa Ridge; 20 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and a grandson.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joey Dunning officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery at Mounds.
