To the editor:

I must respond to the Speak Out comment that impugned the movie "Changing Lanes." This film is an excellent example of the change that can be effected in people's lives through adverse circumstances, in this case circumstances that were caused and exacerbated by the two protagonists themselves. Both these men have difficulty with selfishness, ambition and chaos. By the end of the film, they have regained a sense of integrity and personal value which they are willing to put into play at the risk of losing that which they thought they held most dear. I found it a wonderful display of the tough work involved in daily living, lives that matter not only to oneself, but to families and community. I encourage people to see this film. You will find more encouragement for your life than at a simple feel-good movie.
