JACKSON, Mo. -- Paul H. Job, 81, of Jackson died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at Monticello House.

He was born Dec. 9, 1920, at Dutchtown, Mo., son of Leo and Alma Schmidt Job. He and Melba M. Moore were married June 14, 1941, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.

Mr. Job was a truck driver with B&W Transport Co. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion.

He served from July 1942 to November 1945 during World War II in Germany and France under General Patton.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Paula R. (Franklin) Myers of Cape Girardeau; a son, Stephen A. (Mari) Job of Oskaloosa, Iowa; a daughter, Lisa A. (Michael) Rouse of Jackson; a brother, Zeno (Mickey) Job of Oshkosh, Wis.; and a sister-in-law, Judith Brittain of Jackson.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, Cody Rouse, Clay Rouse, Tina (Gary) Meyr, Jeff A. (Amy) Gurley, Jon W. (Julie) Gurley; a stepgranddaughter, Tracey L. Myers; three great-granddaughters, Chelsea Gurley, Hailey Meyr, Alexis Gurley; a great-grandson, Keagan Meyr; and two great-stepgrandsons, Adam Wendel and Aaron Wendel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry K. Job; two brothers, John Job and Lawrence Job; two sisters, Catherine Job and Beatrice Pretzsch.

Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, followed by Knights of Columbus rosary.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. Msgr. Edward Eftink will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by the Delta Team of Missouri National Guard in Cape Girardeau.

Pallbearers will be Jon Gurley, Jeff Gurley, Frank Myers, Mike Rouse, Gary Meyr and Frank Knight. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Beussink, Ed Thiele, Hobert McMath and Don Keith.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southeast Hospice, 760 S. Kingshighway, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63703.
