Owners of two Cape Girardeau small businesses are serving as delegates in the 2002 National Small Business Summit this week in Washington, D.C.

Glenn and Rhoda Reeves, who own and operate Horizon Screen Printing, and Kathy Swan, owner of JCS/Tel-Link, are at the summit, which started Wednesday, and continues until Saturday.

The summit is hosted by the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the nation's largest small business organization.

The 2002 summit is focusing on key government agencies that impact small businesses, as well as offering the delegates with an in-depth look at the current political landscape.

The summit will feature keynote addresses and breakout sessions given by policy experts from government agencies, congressional leaders, White House staff and leading political analysts.

Public figures scheduled to speak at the Summit include U.S. Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao, Small Business Administrator Hector Baretto, former first lady Barbara Bush and senior adviser to the president Karl Rove.
