FROHNA, Mo. -- Fred W. Baue Sr., 86, of St. Louis, formerly of Frohna, died Monday, June 10, 2002, at Bethesda Dilworth Nursing Home in Kirkwood, Mo.

He was born Oct. 4, 1915, in Campbell Hill, Ill., son of Frederic H. and Wilhelmina Baue. He married Alma Baue, who died April 1, 2000.

Baue was employed by Cullen and Kelly Funeral Home seven years, and was a funeral director in St. Charles and St. Louis counties more than 30 years.

He served on the Board of Elders of Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Charles and the First State Capitol Restoration Commission. He was a member of the Lions Club of Perry County, St. Charles County Historical Society, and Pearl Harbor Survivors Association of St. Louis.

Baue served in the U.S. Navy from Dec. 17, 1940, to Oct. 8, 1945.

Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Frederic Baue of Glendale, Mo., Kurt Baue of St. Charles; a daughter, Jane Maddox of Valparaiso, Ind.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call at Baue Funeral Home in St. Charles from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. A service will follow at 7.

Friends may also call at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna after 11 a.m. Saturday. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville, Mo., with military graveside service by American Legion Post 133. The Rev. Wayne Palmer will officiate.

Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville is in charge of local arrangements.
