More tracks that could appeal to local fans and competitors are in the works.

Besides Keith and Jennifer Adamson's quarter-mile dirt track scheduled to open later this year near Poplar Bluff, Mo., dirt ovals are under construction near Camden, Tenn., and near casino-heavy Tunica, Miss. Officials with the Tunica facility already are discussing plans for World of Outlaws events for next season and could host sprints each Saturday.

Also to the south, the quarter-mile dirt oval near Atwood, Tenn., is scheduled to open with an event July 4 that will pay $1,000 to win for IMCA-style modifieds and several stock classes. Racing there will be each Saturday, headlined by the modified class.
