Walter Hitt Jr., 84, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Feb. 21, 1918, at Arbor, Mo., son of Walter Jefferson and Alice Anetta Adkison Hitt. He first married Helen Ingalls, who preceded him in death. He later married Clarise Gurley, who also preceded him in death.
Hitt retired as an aerospace inspector at Menasco Manufacturing Inc. in Burbank, Calif.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce McDougald of Granada Hills, Calif., Alice MacKay of Shingletown, Calif.; three sisters, Lucille Friese of Cape Girardeau, Alice Henry of Perryville, Mo., Marie Dooley of Chaffee, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, five brothers, and three sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
