CINCINNATI -- Eric Young's two-out, two-run double in the ninth inning off Danny Graves rallied the Milwaukee Brewers to a 5-4 victory Thursday, their first in eight tries this season over the Cincinnati Reds.

Trying to protect a 4-3 lead, Graves (3-3) gave up singles to Robert Machado and Alex Sanchez between outs. Young then doubled to the gap in left-center.

Jayson Durocher (1-0) pitched a perfect eighth for his first major league win.

Expos 2, Phillies 1

PHILADELPHIA -- Brad Wilkerson hit a two-out, two-run homer off Jose Mesa (2-5) in the ninth -- Montreal's first hit since the fourth inning.

Mesa relieved to start the ninth and walked Brian Schneider leading off. After Mike Mordecai sacrificed and with Jose Macias at the plate, Philadelphia tried a hidden-ball trick, with second baseman Tomas Perez tagging Schneider -- but umpires ruled time had been called.

Astros 8, Pirates 6

PITTSBURGH -- Lance Berkman drove in three runs to raise his major league-leading total to 78 and Houston, finally playing like the NL Central contender it was expected to be, won for the seventh time in nine games.

Berkman's two-run double highlighted a five-run third inning against Joe Beimel (1-3), and he added another RBI double in the fifth.

Diamondbacks 6, Giants 3

PHOENIX -- Brian Anderson (4-7) won consecutive starts for the first time since May 17 and 22 last year, allowing two runs and four hits in seven innings to improve to 3-1 in his last four outings.

ATLANTA -- Javy Lopez hit a tiebreaking double off Mark Prior (2-2) in the seventh inning as Atlanta won for the 13th time in 15 games and improved to 54-31, tying Seattle for the best record in the majors.

Marlins 9, Mets 7

MIAMI -- After nearly wasting a 6-1 lead, Julian Tavarez (7-4) won for the sixth time in his last nine starts, allowing five runs and nine hits in six innings. Pinch-hitter Pablo Ozuna helped him with a two-run triple after New York had closed to 6-5.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Yankees 7, Indians 1

NEW YORK -- Mike Mussina and the Yankees ended Jim Thome's seven-game homer streak -- one short of a major league record -- and Raul Mondesi hit his first homer for New York.

Thome went 0-for-3 with a walk.

Red Sox 9, Blue Jays 5

BOSTON -- Nomar Garciaparra homered and drove in four runs to lead Boston over Toronto for its first five-game sweep in 13 years.

NOTEBOOK

REDS: Cincinnati made last-minute changes in its rotation Thursday, calling up knuckleball pitcher Jared Fernandez and giving him a start against the Brewers.

ROYALS: Scouting director Deric Ladnier said he will meet today with first-round draft pick Zack Greinke and his agent. The Royals used the sixth overall selection on Greinke.
