Arlie Seawright

CAIRO, Ill. -- Arlie C. Seawright, 78, of Escanaba, Mich., died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers, Mich.

He was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Cairo, son of Arlie and Lillie Morgan Seawright Sr. His wife, Eloeise, died in 1987.

Seawright was a retired fire chief with the city of Cairo. He was a member of Tigert Memorial United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Elks Lodge, all in Cairo, and the National Fire Fighters Association.

He served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

Survivors include a son, Marshall Seawright of Soo Hill, Mich.; a brother, Edward Seawright of Wickliffe, Ky.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 19 at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill. The Rev. Kelly Cox will officiate.
