Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Alex Cora was released from the hospital Tuesday, a day after being knocked unconscious during a game.

The 26-year-old Cora, who was left with a mild concussion, sat out Tuesday's game against Arizona.

Cora collided at second base with Arizona shortstop Tony Womack on Monday night. Cora was unconscious for more than 30 seconds, general manager Dan Evans said. He was taken off the field on a stretcher and kept overnight at the hospital for observation.

Philadelphia 76ers forward Derrick Coleman is out until at least November because of chronic knee problems.

Sixers' general manager Billy King said Coleman's left knee is healing more slowly than expected after June surgery. The 35-year-old Coleman played much of last season with knee pain.

Coleman averaged 15.1 points and 8.8 rebounds during the regular season for the 76ers.

To help with depth at forward, the Sixers signed Brian Skinner on Tuesday.

Anthony Clement, the tallest player in the Arizona Cardinals' huge, expensive offensive line, will undergo season-ending surgery to repair his torn right triceps.

Coach Dave McGinnis said doctors confirmed late Tuesday that Clement's triceps were torn from his elbow in last Saturday night's 19-13 preseason loss to Denver.

The injury means Leonard Davis, the No. 2 pick overall in last year's draft, will shift from right guard to Clement's right tackle position. Chris Dishman, Arizona's only experienced backup offensive lineman, will start at right guard.

The 6-foot-8, 328-pound Clement signed a five-year contract in the offseason.
