Elsie Selph

Elsie H. Selph, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at the Heartland Care and Rehab in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 21, 1910, in Sheffield, England, daughter of Henry and Mary Jane Ball Hardy. She married Johnny Maxiff Selph, who died in 1996.

Selph taught at Southeast Missouri State University in the business department for 16 years and was a sponsor of Pi Omega Pi. She was a former high school teacher throughout Southeast Missouri and past member of the Christ Episcopal Church of Cape Girardeau and the organization of Business Professional Women. She was past president of the Ladies Wednesday Club.

Survivors include one son, Jon Lindell Selph of Cape Girardeau, and one granddaughter.
