BENTON, Mo. -- Jaclyn Dawn Welter and Paul Jackson Scott Jr. exchanged vows June 22, 2002, at St. Denis Catholic Church. The Rev. Normand Varone performed the ceremony. Mass servers were Nicholas and Aaron Welter of Benton.

Lector was Cindy Jansen, cousin of the bride. Organist was Joe Wayne Spalding of Scott City, Mo. Vocalists were Jimmy Simmons and Joanie Kerby of Benton.

The bride is the daughter of Paul and Cheryl Welter of Benton. The groom is the son of Paul and Patsy Scott of Yellville, Ark.

Jamie Welter, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Shanks of Oak Park, Ill., Jennifer Welter of St. Charles, Mo., and Heather VanGennip of Jackson, Mo.

Best man was Patrick Scott of Springdale, Ark., brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Michael Tierney of Jackson, Richard Reeves of Benton, and Derek Baugher of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Derek Welter of New Hamburg, Mo., and Kevin Pfaff of St. Charles.

Flower girls were Renee and Rachel Ribolzi of Columbia, Ill., cousins of the bride. Ringbearer was Adam Schaefer of Oran, Mo., cousin of the bride.

Candlelighters were Samantha Welter of Benton and Sandra Scott of Springdale.

Jessica Pool and Meredith Grissom handed out programs and attended the guest book.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the parish center. Servers were Andrea Kluesner, Janessa Burford, Ashley Seyer, Leslie Seyer, Trey Simmons, Willa Welter and Pam Welter.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner June 21 at the American Legion Hall.

Mrs. Scott received a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education from Southeast Missouri State University. She is a first grade teacher at Matthews Elementary in Sikeston, Mo.

The groom received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville in 1997. He is the spectrochemical and physical testing laboratory supervisor at Noranda Aluminum in New Madrid, Mo.

The couple is residing in Sikeston.
