Yugoslavia came back from an eight-point deficit in the final 2 1/2 minutes to beat Argentina 84-77 in overtime for the gold medal in the World Championships in Indianapolis.

Dejan Bodiroga scored 27 points, including nine straight points late in the fourth quarter when Yugoslavia rallied to tie it, and Peja Stojakovic had 26.

The game ended with Argentina's players angrily pointing their fingers and yelling at a Greek referee who failed to call a foul on the final play of regulation.

Germany finished third as Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points in a 117-95 victory over New Zealand.

Late Saturday night, the U.S. lost to Spain 81-75 in the fifth-place game. The Americans' sixth-place finish was their worst ever at a major international competition.

Boxing

Roy Jones Jr. pounded a game but badly outclassed Clinton Woods until the challenger's corner finally told the referee to stop it at 1:29 of the sixth round as Jones retained his undisputed light heavyweight titles Saturday night in Portland, Ore.

Jones improved to 47-1 with 38 knockouts. Woods fell to 32-2.

Golf

A stunning collapse by Neal Lancaster produced an equally surprising winner in the Canadian Open in Markham, Ontario.

John Rollins got into a three-way playoff when Lancaster made double bogey on the 72nd hole, then ended it early by making a 20-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole for his first PGA Tour victory.

Rollins closed with a 7-under 65 to match Lancaster (72) and Justin Leonard (69) at 16-under 272.

Annika Sorenstam won her seventh LPGA Tour title of the year and ninth worldwide event, closing with a 5-under 65 for a four-stroke victory in the Williams Championship in Tulsa, Okla.

Using a new cross-handed putting grip, Sorenstam birdied four of the last six holes to easily hold off Canadian Lorie Kane with an 11-under 199.

Bob Gilder won consecutive events for the second time this year, holing a 2-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole with Tom Jenkins in the Kroger Senior Classic in Maineville, Ohio.
