NEW WELLS, Mo. -- Mildred Frieda Bodenschatz, 85, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2002, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home.
Friends may call today between 4-8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at New Wells. The Rev. Walter Patzwitz will officiate.
Mildred was born March 28, 1917, at Shawneetown, Mo., daughter of Harry and Frieda Kasten Ludwig. She and Martin Bodenschatz were married Feb. 9, 1936. He passed away Jan. 19, 1978.
Loving survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Dianna Bodenschatz of Jackson; daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Earl Saupe of Jackson; two grandchildren, Rick Saupe of Jackson and Jodi Scherer and husband Neal of Jackson; three great-grandchildren, Jesse and Amber Saupe and Bryson Scherer; a sister and brother-in-law, LaFern and Marvin Schoen of Oak Ridge, Mo.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three granddaughters and a brother, Norman Ludwig.
Mrs. Bodenschatz was raised near Shawneetown and was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. She and Martin lived many years in the New Wells community and were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
