Thanks for the help I WOULD Like to thank the man who started my car for me Sept. 3 at the Food Giant parking lot. My car wouldn't start, and I had to go in to use the phone. He was working on the car, and when I came back, he had gotten it started and had to leave. I really appreciated that. There are a lot of good people. We don't always hear about the ones who are ready to help someone when they are alone and a senior citizen...

Water park a good idea

I WANT to comment about the idea of putting a water park here in Cape. I think that's an excellent idea. As far as paying for it, people pay to get in. You ought to see what they do up there at Six Flags. I think this is a good idea. Of course, there are always going to be people against something new, even this new River Campus. That would bring in maybe 2,000 new students who would be spending money here in Cape. People would come for the plays they put on and spend money. When these big companies decide to move to a town, they want to know what the cultural advantages are for their children and their wives. Think of the people who would come in here to Cape to use this water park. This is the best idea I've heard in a long time.

Tighter budget

I JUST renewed the license for my car, which had to have an inspection. My car is 10 years old. Our trucks are 14 years old. You get taxed for going to the store, your personal property, your paycheck. So don't come crying to me wanting more money. Do like the rest of us poor people who didn't get a raise this year: Budget, budget, budget.

Follow trail rules

I RIDE a bicycle on the Cape LaCroix recreation trail almost every evening. Everyone needs to abide by the rules so everyone can enjoy the trail. Bicyclists need to warn walkers when they are approaching. Walkers need to get over when walking in groups of two or more. People with small children on bicycles or walking need to make sure they stay on their side of the walkway. Parents, do you realize how dangerous it is for small children to be aimlessly walking along the trail? People with dogs need to have them on leashes for their safety and ours.
