BANGOR, Mich. -- A family of five who had just moved into a farmhouse one day earlier were killed Sunday when the house exploded, police said.

Three adults and two children, ages 1 and 4, were found dead, police said. Michigan State Police Lt. Tim Young said the family had been hired to manage the farm by an Indiana company and had just moved in on Saturday.

The cause of the explosion, reported about 2:30 a.m., was under investigation, Young said.

"The whole house was completely leveled," Young said. "The explosion could be felt up to two miles away."

Details about the company and arrangement with the family were not immediately available.
