MILLERSVILLE, Mo. -- The Millersville Masonic Lodge Westview No. 103 will meet at 6:45 p.m. today for a dinner meeting.

Commerce Reunion to be held Saturday

COMMERCE, Mo. -- The Commerce Reunion will be held Saturday at the city park in Commerce, Mo. The event begins at 11 a.m., with a potluck dinner to follow at noon. In case of rain, the reunion will take place in the Methodist Church basement. Bring old photos and histories to share.

Humane Society plans Bark in the Park 2002

Animal lovers can join together at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in Capaha Park to support the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri by participating in this year's Bark in the Park event.

Everyone is invited to come out and support the Humane Society. With sponsors paying so much per mile, people can raise money by walking their pet. On-site donations will also be accepted.

Money raised for Operation C.A.R.E. Bears

ANNA, Ill. -- The Illinois State Police District 22 is sponsoring a motorcycle fun run on Saturday.

Bikes will depart from the Short Enterprises Corporate Office located behind McDonald's Restaurant in Anna, Ill., and finish at the Second Annual Shrimp Festival in Golconda, Ill. District 22 will have a food booth at the festival. All District 22 proceeds will go to Operation C.A.R.E. Bears.

Operation C.A.R.E. Bears is a joint Christmas project sponsored by District 22 and McDonald's/Short Enterprises that provides Christmas presents to children throughout Southern Illinois. During the 2001 project, Christmas gifts and food baskets were distributed to 100 children from 33 families.

Registration is at 10:30 a.m. Cost is $10 per person or $15 for a rider and passenger.

Kluesner-Reischman reunion in the works

The Kluesner-Reischman family reunion will be held Sunday at Shelter No. 4, Cape County Park North.

Those planning to attend are asked to bring a basket dinner; the meal is planned for 12:15 p.m.

St. Ambrose to serve up dinner Sunday

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- The St. Ambrose Home and School is hosting a dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at 419 S. Third St. in Chaffee.

The menu includes fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, fresh buttered parsley potatoes, corn, green beans, slaw, homemade desserts and drinks.

The cost for adults is $6.50, children $3 and under age five eat free. Carry-outs available after noon by plate or quantity.

Descendants plan reunion for Sunday

The descendants of John G. and Elizabeth (Jenkins) Brown, Sr. will gather for their annual family reunion on Sunday at Cape County Park South, pavilion No. 8.

All family and friends are invited to come early and stay late. A family-style dinner is scheduled for noon. Bring a basket dinner, beverages, table service, lawn chairs, old pictures and memories to share.

Library provides internet training for seniors

Cyber-Savvy Seniors, an introductory internet training session, is available free of charge Tuesday mornings from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Cape Girardeau Public Library.

Generations on Line, a software program created with senior citizen use in mind, is being used for the four-week training course.

Notre Dame sophomores ready benefit dinner

The Notre Dame Regional High School sophomore class is sponsoring a fund-raising dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Notre Dame High School, located on Route K.

A car wash and silent auction will take place in addition to the meal. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children, children five and under eat free.

The menu will be Dexter Bar-B-Que served on James Dufek's homemade buns, slaw, chips, beans, dessert and drink. All proceeds will benefit the Notre Dame sophomore class.

Women in Politics program set for Monday

The League of Women Voters of Southeast Missouri invites the public to attend a 7 p.m. Monday program on Women in Politics at Chateau Girardeau, 3120 Independence.

Councilwoman Evelyn Boardman, Ward I, and Councilwoman Marcia Ritter, Ward 6, will share their experiences in politics and answer questions about their motivation, goals, frustrations and satisfactions in public office.

Perkins Baptist Church holds annual fish fry

PERKINS, Mo. -- The Perkins Baptist Church in Perkins, Mo., will be holding their annual fish fry this Saturday.

Serving begins at 4 p.m. and continues into the evening. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge for the meal.
