CHAFFEE, Mo. -- The Red Devils, who have relied heavily on the pass this season, were held to 63 passing yards and fell to 0-3 with a shutout loss.

"They bottled our passing attack up," said Chaffee coach Allan Horrell, who said the team was also hurt by too many dropped passes on a wet field.

Chaffee prepared all week for a potent Crystal City passing attack only to have Crystal City rush for 191 yards. Crystal City led 17-0 at halftime.

North County 13, Perryville 0

BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- Perryville suffered its third consecutive shutout and dropped its conference opener.

North County (3-0, 1-0 MAFC Red) broke a scoreless deadlock when quarterback Adam Howard connected with Aaron Byington for a 58-yard scoring pass in the third quarter for a 7-0 lead.
