Jackson, after an 0-3 start, captured its first win Friday on its home field, handling Graves Co., Ky., 34-12.

Jackson (1-3) scored on its opening drive with 6:28 left in the first quarter. Tyler Profilet connected with Jason Meystedt for a 30-yard gain to get Jackson into the Eagles territory. Nine carries later, Meystedt finished the drive with a 2-yard toucdown run.

"This win feels great, especially on the home field," said Jackson's Stuart McIntosh, who carried the ball 22 times for 154 yards. "We played well tonight but we certainly have room to grow."

Minutes later after Eagles' quarterback Donnie Thacker was intercepted by Chad Reiminger, the Indians struck again. Meystedt ran for his second touchdown of the game, a 4-yard run with 1:24 left in the first quarter.

Graves County (2-3) scored for the first time early in the second quarter when Thacker hit Jon Ladd for a 26-yard touchdown pass.

"I felt like I played well," McIntosh said. "But everyone still has room for improvement."

The Indians added to their lead eight minutes into the second half when McIntosh scored his second touchdown of the game, a 1-yard run.

The Indian defense got in on the scoring when Reiminger intercepted a pass and ran it back for a touchdown, his second interception of the game.

Graves County struck last. Ryan Towery caught a pass in the end zone with only three seconds left on the clock.
