Louis Allen "Al" Gremard, 61, of Jackson died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 29, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, son of Louis W. and Rosa Lee Estes Gremard. He and Saundra "Sandy" Biri-Blevins were married Feb. 14, 1999...

Louis Allen "Al" Gremard, 61, of Jackson died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 29, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, son of Louis W. and Rosa Lee Estes Gremard. He and Saundra "Sandy" Biri-Blevins were married Feb. 14, 1999.

He attended East St. Louis High School and served in the U.S. Army from Feb. 4, 1961, to Jan. 29, 1964. He worked for Rubbermaid in Jackson from 1995-2001, when he became disabled due to failing health. He was a member of the Jackson Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Roy Allen Gremard of Boca Raton, Fla.; three daughters, Rose Marie Overstreet of St. Louis, Mo., Anna Louise Gremard of Cahokia, Ill., and Amy Durbin of Portageville, Mo.; two stepsons, Larry Blevins and Biri Blevins of Jackson; five grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

Also surviving are one brother, Harvey Gremard of Jonesboro, Ark.; and a sister, Jean Louise Foulk of Cape Girardeau.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, with an Elks service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Raymond V. Epps officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Russell Heights Cemetery.
