Frances Furhmann of Cape Girardeau was inspired to send in this photo when she saw The Bryan Laundries mentioned in the Southeast Missourian's "Out of the Past" column published on Aug. 20. The photo was taken when Fuhrmann, center, was about 5 years old, which would have been around 1928. Also pictured was Fuhrmann's brother, Lex. Ruben Kilgore, Fuhrmann's father, worked for the Cape Girardeau-based company The Bryan Laundries, Inc. for a few years during the late 1920s and early 1930s.
