Evelyn M. Suhre, 80, of Ellis Grove, Ill., died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at her home.

She was born Dec. 28, 1921, at Riley Lake, Ill., daughter of Wesley and Cora Greathouse Stirnaman. She and Billy F. Suhre were married Oct. 24, 1942, in St. Louis. He died April 2, 1984.

Suhre was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis Grove, and a member of VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include five sons, Billy Suhre Jr. of Cape Girardeau, Timothy, Kenneth and Gary Suhre of Jackson, Steven Suhre of St. Louis; a daughter, Donna Hinze of Jackson; two brothers, Charles Stirnaman of Mesa, N.M., Kenneth Stirnaman of Perryville; a sister, Peggy Helmers of Chester, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son.

Friends may call at Schroeder-McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester after 9 a.m. Thursday.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. William Rensing officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Chester.
