Knights of Columbus schedules fish frys
SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- The St. Joseph Knights of Columbus on U.S. 61 in Scott City will hold fish frys on Oct. 11, 18, 25 and Nov. 1 and 8. The menu includes fish, french fries, slaw, hush puppies and drinks.
The all-you-can-eat meal costs $7 for adults, $3.50 for children 6-12, children five and under eat free. Serving time is from 4 to 7 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Catholic Church.
Senior Center to serve chicken, dumpling meal
Cape Senior Center at 921 N. Clark in Cape Girardeau will be serving a chicken and dumpling meal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. The menu also includes ham, mashed potatoes, corn, cole slaw, green beans, dessert and drinks.
The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 6-12. Carry-outs are available. For more information on the all-you-can-eat, family-style meal, call 335-1352.
Property owners group elects new officers
Bill Zellmer was recently elected president of the North Hills Property Owners Association. Other new officers are J.T. Gregory, road chairman; Dona Heisserer, treasurer; and Ty Metzger, water chairman. Treasurer Joyce Gibbar is a holdover officer. The North Hills subdivision is about three miles north of Cape Girardeau, off Route 621.
Cross of Peace plans dinners in October
ALTO PASS, Ill. -- The Bald Knob Cross of Peace on State Rt. 127 near Alto Pass will hold a ham and beans dinner Saturday and Sunday. An annual cookout is planned for Oct. 19-20 and a polish sausage meal is set for Oct. 26-27.
All events are plate dinners with a la carte options and carry-outs available. Meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Church will hold chili/ stew dinner near Tilsit
A chili/stew dinner will be held at St. James United Church of Christ, County Road 366 outside Jackson, near Tilsit this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The menu includes chili, stew, hot dogs, desserts and beverages. Cost for adults is $5, children 6-12 $2.50, five and under eat free.
