ST. LOUIS -- Doug Weight scored two power-play goals in the third period to give the Blues a 5-3 victory over the Dallas Stars on Saturday night.

Weight's second goal came at 11:39 when he beat Dallas goalie Marty Turco from inside the right circle. Before that goal, St. Louis had a two-man advantage for just over four minutes but couldn't score.

St. Louis goalie Curtis Sanford made 23 saves in his first NHL start. He stopped 12 of 13 shots in his debut Thursday against Columbus.

The Stars are winless in seven games in St. Louis, dating to Nov. 9, 1999.

Weight's first goal at 2:20 of the third period tied it at 3. Blues forward Eric Boguniecki made contact with Turco, and Weight shot the puck just underneath the crossbar.

Ulf Dahlen scored a power play goal at 17:31 of the second to give Dallas a 3-1 lead. Dahlen took a pass from Sergei Zubov and beat Sanford. The goal was Dahlen's third of the season and extended his point-scoring streak to five games.

Brenden Morrow gave Dallas a 1-0 lead at 7:58 of the first with a short-handed goal. Morrow skated in and chipped the puck over Sanford's shoulder for his first of the season.

After St. Louis' Al MacInnis scored to the game at 11:46 of the first period, Dallas took the lead for good.

With 30 seconds remaining in the first period, Pierre Turgeon scored his second to give Dallas a 2-1 lead. Turgeon scored when Sanford gave up a rebound on Philippe Boucher's shot, and he slid the puck past Sanford.

Cory Stillman scored at 18:55 of the second to cut Dallas' lead to 3-2.

Dallas Drake added an empty-net goal for St. Louis.

Boguniecki and Keith Tkachuk each had two assists for St. Louis, which went 3-for-13 on the power play.

Noteworthy

St. Louis outshot Dallas 27-26. St. Louis has outshot opponents in all five games this season.

Dallas defenseman Darryl Sydor played in his 500th game with the Stars.

Sanford played six games in the 1999-2000 season for the Missouri River Otters of the United Hockey League. He is the first member of the River Otters to play in an NHL game.

Dallas C Jason Arnott will be out of the lineup for at least another week with an injured ankle.

Blues D Mike Van Ryn was scratched with rib soreness.
