Two graduate from Air Force basic training

Air Force airmen Joseph B. Morrow and Jared R. Lingle recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

During their six weeks of training, Morrow and Lingle studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs and courtesies. They performed drill and ceremony marches and participated in physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training and training in human relations.

Morrow is the son of Jim Morrow of Jonesboro, Ill., and Margaret Morrow of Elco, Ill. Lingle is the son of Greg and Angela Lingle of Tamms, Ill. Both are 2002 graduates of Egyptian High School in Tamms.

Gramlisch commissioned as a U.S. Navy officer

Navy Ensign Ron D. Gramlisch recently received his commission as a naval officer after completing Officer Candidate School at Naval Aviation Schools Command, Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Fla.

During his 13-week training program, Gramlisch received extensive instruction on a variety of specialized subjects including navigation, ship handling, engineering, naval warfare and management.

Gramlisch is the son of Diane L. Scholl of Scott City and Johnny D. Gramlisch of Jackson. A 1991 graduate of Jackson High School, Gramlisch joined the Navy in July of this year.
