Blood drive to be held at University Center

A blood drive sponsored by the Beta Psi Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, a coed service fraternity at Southeast Missouri State University, will be held this week on campus at the University Center. Hours are from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and noon to 5 p.m. Thursday.

Area blood supplies are running low as the holiday season approaches, according to the American Red Cross. For more information, call the Red Cross at 339-1822.

St. Denis to hold Winter Wonderland

BENTON, Mo. -- The St. Denis Home and School of Benton is sponsoring its third annual Winter Wonderland of Treasures sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the St. Denis parish center on U.S. 61.

More than 52 booths will offer a wide variety of handmade crafts and gifts, including Christmas items and other crafts, candles, cookbooks, wood items, wreaths, floral arrangements, jewelry, NASCAR items, specialty food items, Mary Kay home interior and Pampered Chef RADA cutlery.

Breakfast food, homemade chili and chicken noodle soup, as well as homemade desserts will be available. There will be a 50/50 drawing and a raffle, and attendance prizes will be given away throughout the day. Admission is free. VICA to hold blood drive Friday

VICA, or Skills USA Vocational Industrial Clubs of America, will hold a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the multipurpose room at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center.

Brazeau sponsors annual Christmas celebration

BRAZEAU, Mo. -- The Brazeau Historical Society is sponsoring its third annual Christmas in Brazeau this Saturday. The entire village in Perry County will be decorated, according to organizers.

Featured sites include various homes, the Presbyterian Church, the local museum, a restored 1860s home, Santa's Toy Land, a blacksmith shop, a craft fair and Carrie's Tea Room. Adult tickets cost $5. Commerce churches hold Thanksgiving service

COMMERCE, Mo. -- The Baptist Church and St. Paul United Methodist Church, both of Commerce, recently held a joint Thanksgiving service at which $125 was raised for the Scott City Food Pantry.
