Robert Jones

Robert G. Jones, 55, of Texaco, Ill., formerly of Jackson, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill.

He was born Feb. 8, 1947, at Fredericktown, Mo., son of Eddie and Rose Walker Jones. He and Nelda Seabaugh were married July 19, 1976.

Jones received a bachelor of science degree in business from Southeast Missouri State University in 1970. He had worked at Kraft Foods, Wausau Insurance Co., the former Schaper's IGA in Jackson and IGA in Metropolis, Ill. He retired from Phillip Morris in 1986 because of failing health.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, William R. "Bill" Jones of Oak Ridge; and a sister, Brenda Jerrell of Anna, Ill.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dan Usher officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
