Lee R. Winkler, 71, of Kennett and formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, in Memphis, Tenn.

He was born Dec. 16, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, son of Roy and Ersa Kennison Winkler. He and Clara Jean Carter were married July 18, 1954, in Kennett.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lee Hunt of Kennett; a brother, Norman Winkler of Kennett; a sister, Shirley Byrd of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.
