HICKMAN, Ky. -- David Moses, 53, of Hickman, formerly of Mounds, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, Tenn.

He was born Aug. 22, 1949, in Cairo, Ill., to Sam and Judy Wilburn Moses. He married Rebecca Newton.

He owned Newton Jewelry Store in Hickman, was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hickman, and graduated Murray State University as a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

Survivors include his wife; his parents of Mounds; a son, Chris Moses of Hickman; two sisters, Cecelia Devore of Lebanon, Ill., Carol Stout of Mounds; two brothers, James Moses of Herrin, Ill., Bill Moses of Mounds; and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hickman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Strong Funeral Home in Hickman is in charge of arrangements.
