Elizabeth Hawkins

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Elizabeth Catherine Hawkins, 39, of Sikeston died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at St. Louis University Hospital, following an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 28, 1963, in Alton, Ill., daughter of Ernest E. "Pat" and Shirley Emerson Stidham Sr. She and Jerry D. Hawkins were married Aug. 4, 1989, in Sikeston.

Hawkins was a 1982 graduate of Scott County Central High School. She worked 10 years at Danny's Place, and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jeremy and Zachary Hawkins of the home; two daughters, Kelsie and Sidney Hawkins of the home; her parents of Sikeston; two brothers, John Stidham of Marion, Ill., Ernie Stidham of Granite City, Ill.; two sisters, Tish Smith of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Marilyn Stidham of Key West, Fla.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel after 5 p.m. Monday.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Stephen Schneider officiating.
