Patricia Riggs

Patricia R. "Patti" Riggs, 50, a longtime resident of Snohomish County, Wash., passed away at her home in Mill Creek, Wash., on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003.

She was born Oct. 16, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Claude and Opal Young Riggs. Patti grew up in Washington's Sedro-Woolley and Mount Vernon areas, attending school in Mount Vernon until moving to Snohomish County 36 years ago.

She worked as a confidential secretary for the Department of Social and Health Services in Everett, Wash., for the past five years, and she will be greatly missed by her co-workers. Patti loved to collect pictures and angels and visit with family and friends and especially visit Susie's Mountain. She enjoyed flowers, nature and the outdoors, and she especially loved to laugh and enjoy life.

Patti is survived by her daughters, Dawn Eastman and Claudia Kieselhorst, both of Mill Creek; a son, Troy Eidmess, and his wife, Turi, of Anacortes, Wash.; five grandchildren, Michael and Ashley Eldred, Johnnathon Frey, and Caleb and Clarissa Eastman; two sisters, Sue Williams and her husband, Les, of Sedro-Woolley, and Marjorie Haws and her husband, Jeff, of Arlington; a brother, Jerry Riggs, and his wife, Dori, of Stanwood; an uncle and aunt, Lloyd and Shirley Young, and an aunt, Ruth Young, all of Scott City; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Lemley Chapel with Pastor David Browning of Christ the King Church of Mount Vernon officiating. Internment will follow in the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery. A reception will follow the services at the Eagles at the corner of Metcalf and Warner.
