Kelsey Paige Gjerstad and John Thomas Koenig began their wedded life together June 2, 2012, in a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony at Landings at Spirit Golf Club in Chesterfield, Mo. John Rice performed the ceremony. Vocalists were Hannah Smith and Hannah Hill of St. Louis. Brandon Smith of St. Louis and Gary Gjerstad of Mesa, Ariz., uncle of the bride, were instrumentalists.

The bride is the daughter of Ron and Cindy Gjerstad of Jackson. The groom is the son of Tim and Angela Koenig of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Matron of honor was Marianne Gjerstad of Kansas City, Mo., sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Hannah Walker Smith and Hannah Rice Hill, childhood friends from Jackson, and Alyson Hau and Sam Morr, friends from St. Louis University.

Best man was Tim Koenig of Cincinnati, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were John Markus, Wes Darnell, Ken Peacock, and Tim Abbot, friends from St. Louis University. Ushers were Garrett Gjerstad of Kansas City, brother of the bride, and Stephen Ellis and Aldynne Glanton from St. Louis University.

A dinner reception was held after the ceremony at the clubhouse, with a dance and celebration on the outdoor patio.

After a honeymoon in Cozumel, the couple is residing in the St. Louis area.

Mrs. Koenig, a 2006 graduate of Jackson High School, received a bachelor of arts degree in education and math from St. Louis University in 2010. She is teaching high school math in St. Louis.

The groom received a bachelor of science degree with a marketing focus from St. Louis University in 2011. He is employed at St. Louis University and is pursuing a master's degree in finance.
