Tammy Lee Shy and Clifton Orville Merritt were married Dec. 4, 2010, at Cape Bible Chapel. J.T. Thomason performed the ceremony. Pianist was Shane Steck and soloist was Tonya Skinner, both of Cape Girardeau.

The bride is the daughter of Raymond and Cathy LeGrand and Sammy Shy, all of Oran, Mo. The groom is the son of Janice Merritt of Dagsboro, Del., and the late Demmy Merritt.

Matron of honor was Angie Mendez of Kansas City, Kan. Bridesmaids were Brandy Shy of St. Louis, sister of the bride; Kerissa Kirk of Columbia, Mo., cousin of the bride; and Sherry Frey of Chicago.

John Merritt of Dagsboro was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Russ Merritt of Georgetown, Del., brother of the groom; Shawn Bohnert of Pocahontas, and Eric Maurer of Marble Hill, Mo. Ushers were Rodney Shy, brother of the bride, and Harley Prochnow, both of Oran, and Nathan Young of Fruitland.

Flower girls were Megan Kirk of Columbia and Marisa Mendez of Kansas City. Megan is the daughter of Doug and Kerissa Kirk and cousin of the bride. Marisa is the daughter of Alex and Angie Mendez.

Jill Shy of Oran, sister-in-law of the bride, attended the guest book. Program attendants were Lorena and Sophia Gebhardt of Oran, cousins of the bride.

A dinner and dance reception was held at Bavarian Halle in Jackson.

The groom's mother hosted the rehearsal dinner Dec. 3 at Port Cape Girardeau.

Mrs. Merritt is a graduate of Oran High School. She received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Missouri. She is employed at Nordenia USA.

The groom is a graduate of Indian River High School in Dagsboro. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He is employed at Procter and Gamble.

The couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
