La Croix United Methodist Church was the setting June 3, 2000, for the wedding of Crystal Lynn Koch and Charles Waldon Richey. The Rev. Kim Ferguson performed the double ring ceremony. Pianist was Chris Nall, harpist was Chadie Fruehwald, and flutist was Kelley Pujol, all of Cape Girardeau. Vocalists were Laura Beth Whittington of Charleston, Mo., and Nall.

Parents of the bride are Gary Dale and Linda Joyce Koch of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Michael Lee and Rebecca Lou Richey of Cape Girardeau.

Matron of honor was Christina Dawn Lewis and maid of honor was Cassie Leigh Koch, both of Cape Girardeau and sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Susanne Ayers of Sikeston, Mo., Beth Suzanne Wadley, Mendi Sue Gragg and Amber Laverne Martin, all of Cape Girardeau.

The groom chose Andrew Taylor Dial of Midland, Texas, as best man. Groomsmen were Gregory Keith Deimund of Cape Girardeau, brother-in-law of the groom; Mark Stephen Lewis of Cape Girardeau, brother-in-law of the bride; Russell Warren Williams of Chesterfield, Mo.; Travis Russell Eckelmann of Arnold, Mo.; and Tom Wayne Hammontree of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Chad Deimund of Cobden, Ill., Brian Beard and Scott Blank of Cape Girardeau, and Scott Hopper of Austin, Texas.

Flower girls were Kaitlyn Paige Ayers, daughter of Kendall and Elizabeth Ayers, and Carson Elizabeth Freeman, daughter of Mike and Lisa Freeman of Cape Girardeau. Ringbearer was Davis Gregory Deimund, son of Greg and Betsy Richey Deimund and nephew of the groom.

Betsy Deimund, sister of the groom, attended the guest book.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Drury Lodge.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner June 2 at Kelsen Gallery.

Mrs. Richey received a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education from Southeast Missouri State University, and is pursuing a master's degree. She is a first grade teacher at Kelso C-7 School.

The groom received a bachelor of science degree in health promotion from Southeast University. He is employed by Heartland Distributing.

The couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
