Emily Ashworth Trueblood and Dr. Erin Scott Gardner were married May 19, 2001, in the Japanese Garden at Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis. Dr. William Willimon performed the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by the St. Louis Brass Ensemble.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Trueblood of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Kerry Gardner and Carla Gardner of Nixa, Mo.

Andrea Welker of Cape Girardeau was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Leah Wessel of Cape Girardeau; Tonya Murfin of Springfield, Mo., and Brooke Gardner of Nixa, both sisters of the groom.

Best man was Dr. Blake Fagan of Asheville, N.C. Groomsmen were Dr. Kevin Bell of Edwardsville, Ill.; Andrew Trueblood of Nashville, Tenn., brother of the bride; and Dr. Karl Wittnebel of Arlington, Va. Ushers were Dr. Sajid Ansari of Omaha, Neb., and Dr. Raju Sabapathy of Davis, Calif.

Flower girl was Laikyn Murfin, niece of the groom.

Guest book attendants were Megan Morsheimer and Mollie Page of Durham, N.C.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held in the Spink Pavilion at the garden.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Soulard's Restaurant in St. Louis.

Mrs. Gardner is a 1996 graduate of Central High School, a 2000 graduate of Duke University, and is attending Washington University School of Law.

The groom is a 1992 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, and 1996 graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He did an internship at Washington University, residency in dermatology at Duke University, and fellowship in dermatologic surgery in Houston, Texas. He is practicing dermatologic surgery in St. Louis.

The couple is residing in Webster Groves, Mo.
